Abstract
The paper presents a way of solving the electromagnetic interference (EMI) problem for an electric power system with power line communication, supplied from an autonomous power source. Theoretical results include a mathematical model of the system with power line communication derived from the recently introduced multi-phase bridge-element concept. Numerical experiments are performed in two steps. Firstly, a mathematical model of the electric power system is developed and realized in software for the system including a three-phase synchronous generator, a switch-mode power supply with an equivalent load, a source and a single-frequency power line modem represented by the circuit extracting the data signal. Secondly, an AC/DC/AC converter with an integrated active filter is included in the model. Current waveforms and spectra of data signal are compared at the modem input. Numerical experiments demonstrate applicability of the developed mathematical models in the power line communication design and the efficiency of the proposed way of integrating the power line communication technology into the power system including the sources of conducted emissions.
