Abstract
Objective Mathematical method is applied to simulate and to give visualized description of the spatial uniform magnetic fields generated by the Helmholtz coils designed according to our experiment requirement. Methods Mathematical model of any point in the space within the magnetic field was established in cylindrical coordinates using MATLAB, and numerical method was applied to complete the visual simulation of uniform magnetic fields within Helmholtz coils generated by the pulsed electromagnetic fields device developed in our lab. Results Verification results show that the axial magnetic field Bz within the coils distributed in the cylinder of 0.015 m ≤ z≤ 0.045 m axis length, 0.03 m ≤ y ≤ 0.03 m of radium, and the strength of the magnetic fields was 0.006T. Conclusion The spatial magnetic fields region designed can meet the requirements of cell culture by providing required strength and spatial uniform area of the magnetic fields. The visualization of magnetic fields distribution can provide guidance for the up-coming cell culture experiment on the placing of wellplate and to effectively avoid experiment result differences caused by the non-uniformlty of the magnetic fields.
