Abstract

Nonlinear equations of thermoelastic plates in an electromagnetic field are developed with consideration of a material nonlinearity. Using the Maxwell equations for an electromagnetic field, the modified Fourier law of heat conduction and elastokinetic field equations, the three-dimensional coupled problem is reduced to a two-dimensional one, appropriate for plates. The existence and uniqueness of the solution of a system of partial differential equations arising from the modeling of current carrying thermoelastic plate-strip in a longitudinal magnetic field is proven.
