Abstract

The paper includes the study of mathematical modeling of the process of obtaining gaseous tungsten hexafluoride based on the reaction between tungsten powder and fluorine in a chemical reactor, the working zone of which is an annular channel, is presented. Simulation of the fluorination process is carried out on the basis of solving the equations of momentum transfer, heat and mass transfer in a binary mixture, taking into account the heterogeneous reaction taking place at the bottom of the channel between the layer of tungsten powder and the gas flow. As a result of the numerical solution of the problem, the distributions of the fields of the velocity vector, concentration and temperature, as well as the characteristic of the completeness of the use of fluorine, are found.
