Abstract

The objective of this paper is to present the simulation of field oriented control using dynamic three-phase induction motor model that developed by MATLAB/Simulink, fed by Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) inverter to be studied, understood and observed the response of the control system such as speed, torque and phase current with step input command signal. The motor control is divided into two control loops, inner current loop and outer speed control loop using proportional plus integral (PI) controller. In the current loop, the first current control loop generates stator flux and another one generates rotor torque of the induction motor. The rotor flux quantities are estimated using computational rotor time constant, rotor angular velocity and stator current. The performance of the feedback control system is tested under different speed command and load disturbances..
