Abstract

A mathematical model for enterovirus inactivation by ozone was developed based on kinetics and mechanistic information. Viral inactivation by ozone was observed to deviate from single order kinetics; this deviation could not be attributed to the heterogeneity of the viral population. The predicted per cent survival values of the model was in close agreement with the experimental data.
