Abstract

AbstractThe mathematical formulation offered here applies to a structural model of the Soviet economy based on stages of the production process rather than on sectors or branches of the economy (see Saushkin's model, Soviet Geography, November 1965). The proposed model is of the class of multiphase linear programming models of production and transport problems. It is designed to optimize volumes of output in each production establishment, sites of new construction projects, plans of distribution of resources and investment by industries and regions, and the interregional exchanges of goods.
