Abstract

A recent study has found that in contrast to some previously published studies, maternal prenatal substance use with legal substances is not associated with offspring attention‐deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). For the study, researchers measured associations between prenatal smoking, alcohol, and caffeine consumption with childhood ADHD symptoms. They took into consideration shared familial factors.
