Abstract

We read with interest the article by Muller et al. (Muller F, Savey L, LeFiblec B, Bussières L, Ndayizamba G, Colau JC, et al. Maternal serum human chorionic gonadotropin level at fifteen weeks is a predictor for preeclampsia. Am J Obstet Gynecol 1996;175:37-40), reporting that high second-trimester maternal serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels indicate an increased risk for preeclampsia. Although the article is in general well written, we feel compelled to point out several inaccuracies in the Comment section.
