Abstract

Since maternal mortality is a devastating event, maternal near miss has been used as a proxy indicator for measuring maternal health. Maternal near miss (MNM) refers to a woman who nearly died but survived of complications during pregnancy, childbirth or within 42days of termination of pregnancy. Maternal near-miss remains a signicant public health problem in both developed and undeveloped countries. Therefore, the study aimed to investigate the indicators of maternal near-miss among women admitted to the Tertiary care center. During present study it was found that Age, educational level, antenatal care follow-ups, medical disorder during pregnancy, mode of admission, and mode of delivery were signicant predictors of maternal near-miss.
