Abstract
A man who has been in harmony with nature in forests and mountains discovered the medicinal properties of the leaves. The medical ideas known by the ancient Tamils were later expanded under many names. Ancient Tamil literature explains the symptoms and methods of protection prescribed by today's modern medicine. Among them, medicine related to women is unique. Ancient Tamil songs tell us about the changes in a woman's skin, the signs of embryo formation, the defects that occur after formation, the carelessness in child birth, and the irresponsibility that fails to observe before and after childbirth. The purpose of this article is to reveal the special maternal health medicine that ancient Tamil people felt.
