Abstract

V. Prasad Shastri is the Professor of Biofunctional Macromolecular Chemistry, the BIOSS Professor of Cell Signalling Microenvironments, and one of the core faculties of the BIOSS Excellence Cluster at the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg, Germany. He is internationally recognized for his contributions in biodegradable polymers, bone and cartilage regeneration, and nanoscale engineering of surfaces for biomedical applications. He obtained his Doctoral Degree in Chemistry from the Polymer Science and Engineering Program at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, USA. He carried out his post-doctoral work in biomedical engineering with Prof. Robert Langer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA.
