Abstract

A review of the literature over the past 15 years on liquid-phase sintering of silicon carbide materials with various additives that activate sintering has been carried out. The microstructure and the laws of its formation are investigated. The dependences of crack resistance, strength and hardness of the material on its structure are studied. The relationship between the forming microstructure of the liquid-phase sintered material and its mechanical properties is analyzed. Ill. 3. Ref. 87. Tab. 1.
