Abstract

In the last few decades, electrically conductive materials for 3D printing have been investigated extensively and had undergone successive advancements. 3D printing of electrically conductive materials is an emerging field with broad applications in electronics, sensors, and energy storage. Thus, the current article provides an overview of material selection considerations for electrically conductive 3D printing. Various types of polymer materials used in 3D printing are also discussed in this article. However, the main emphasis of this research is to investigate the capabilities of the polymer when combined with various types of electrically conductive filler materials for a 3D printing application. Finally, the review concludes with insights into the potential future advancements of electrically conductive 3D printing, including its possible applications. In addition, the paper highlights the limitations, challenges, and future scope that currently exist in this field.
