Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, a matched load termination of a finite‐length line is used to represent an infinite feedline structure in FDTD simulations. A generator with an internal resistor—which is matched to the input port—is employed to excite the feedline, with a view to achieving a low reflection at the truncation point. A patch antenna, whose feedline is truncated in this manner, is used as an example to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed technique. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
