At the most recent follow-up,there was a statistically significant difference in the success rates of groups 1 and 2, where four perforations eitherhealed independently or were treated locally.Conclusion: According to this study, mastoidectomy increases the likelihood that the transplant will be effective andthe patient will have functional hearing.
