Abstract

Any doctor or medical student with an interest in public health at any point in their career. Medical qualifications are not required—international students from all backgrounds enrol, including those from nursing, management consultancy, and non-governmental organisations, also government officials and computer scientists. September 2004 to June 2005 at Harvard University School of Public Health, Boston, USA. I had completed my preregistration house officer year and done six months as an accident and emergency senior house officer and six months as an SHO in cardiothoracic surgery in the United Kingdom. It is a nine month course over one academic year. An intensive eight week summer session is also held each year, so you can begin your studies earlier or spread the degree over three consecutive summer sessions. Both cardiology and public health greatly interest me. Much work needs to be done in public health terms in the field of cardiology, and both interests can be combined in a single career.
