Abstract

Approaches to the definition of the concept ‹‹master class›› are summarized and the importance of this form in the professional technology teacher training is emphasized. It is specified that master class is a two-way process and lecturer-student relationship is absolutely necessary. Continuous contact, practically individual approach to each student, that’s what distinguishes master classes from other forms and methods of teaching. The author reveals the theoretical and practical skills that the intending technology teachers have to possess in organizing their own activities. It is found that the main tasks of the master class are: – to transfer the experience of teacher-master through direct and commented display of actions, methods and forms of teaching activity; – joint development of methodical approaches of the teacher-master and methods of solving the problem set in the program of masterclass; – assisting the participants of master class in defining the tasks of self-development and developing an individual program of self-education and self-improvement. The main advantages of master class are in professional training of technology teachers – it is unique interrelation of short theoretical part, the individual work aimed at acquiring and consolidating practical knowledge and skills in a particular technology. In the process of research the program of the master class on the theme ‹‹Decorative vase (basket) manufacturing›› is presented in such sequence: 1. Announcing a master class theme. Justifying the relevance of the theme, the main idea, which is proposed for consideration. 2. Forming tasks and purpose of master-class. 3. Motivation of cognitive activity. 4. Main part. Content of master-class according to levels. 5. Reflexion. Comprehension and systematization of knowledge. The technology of Decorative vase (basket) Manufacturing is set.
