Mast cell in the specific diagnosis for interstitial cystitis/bladder painful syndrome: a Meta analysis

Abstract

Objective To examine whether mast cell could serve as specific diagnosis for interstitial cystitis/bladder painful syndrome(IC/BPS). Methods We performed an electronic search of the PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Springer Link and CNKI databases to identify relevant studies.The search terms included[ "interstitial cystitis/bladder painful syndrome" or "IC/BPS" (MESH)]and[ "mastocyte" or "mast cell" or "MC" (MESH)]. Results We conducted a comprehensive Meta-analysis of 15 studies.The mast cell in bladder muscle layer or detrusor was significant difference in the IC/BPS compared with control group. Conclusions Mast cell can be specific diagnosis for IC/BPS. Key words: Cystitis, Interstitial; Pain; Syndrome; Mast Cells; Meta-Analysis
