Abstract
Famous publications dedicated to the mass transfer of the metal ions in the process of electrolysis of molten salts, are related to the solution of particular problems of the process. Topical problem binds to a whole the motion of electrolytic active particles in a bulk of molten salts, and the phenomena observed at the boundary melt-electrode, as well as the motion of the particles in the bulk of electrodes with the possibility of formation of a new phase, and further displacement of the new phase front. According to the mass transfer and thermochemical kinetics, the electrolysis of molten salts was examined, taking into account the diffusion processes in the melt, and the rate of formation of electrolytic-active particles on the surface of the electrodes was determined. Obtained solutions allow - describing the transfer of metal ions in the bulk of electrolyte under the influence of the potential gradient; - transferring of the metal ions from the electrode boundary to the boundary of a new phase; - transferring of the metal atoms beyond the boundary of the phase transition to the bulk of electrode. Also we considered the solution of problems at the implementation of electrolysis according to the normal to the electrodes, as well as for stationary conditions and a constant potential gradient
