Abstract
In this chapter, I present the study of the star formation of nearby early-type galaxies in a sample of galaxies that show unusual UV emission for their type. I confirm that massive star formation causes the extended UV emission in our sample, in the form of outer spiral arms and/or outer (pseudo) rings.
