Abstract

A 54-year-old woman was referred to the oral and maxillofacial surgery department in July 1996 with a complaint of swelling of the left cheek and paranasal region. The patient initially came to the ophthalmology department several months earlier because of protrusion of her left eye and blurred vision, which she stated had become progressively worse over the past 2 years. The patient also stated that she had been experiencing nasal congestion and fullness of her sinuses for the past 6 to 8 years, for which she had not sought treatment previously.
