Abstract

A 40-year-old woman with a lifelong history of obesity, developed a massive abdominal pannus that almost immobilized her after partial weight reduction. The removal of the pannus required its suspension from the ceiling via orthopedic nails inserted into its dependent part. When removed, it weighed 38.5 kg, apparently the heaviest on record. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient was overjoyed by the removal of the hindrance. Her total weight reduction was 46 kg.
