Abstract

Legislation to reform mental health care in Massachusetts, remove barriers to care and bolster the behavioral health workforce has been introduced in the state Senate. Among the provisions, the bill would mandate insurers cover free annual mental health examinations the way they do physical exams. If the bill passes, Massachusetts will become the second state to mandate this, after Colorado.
