Abstract

Observing Massachusetts as a longtime national leader in health care reform and the push toward universal health insurance coverage, a new report released Feb. 8 from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) Foundation found gaps in access to health care persist and disproportionately impact people on race, ethnicity, income and other factors. This situation particularly holds true for mental health and substance use disorders, where the delivery system is fragmented and difficult to navigate, the survey stated.
