Introduction

On Sept 1, Slovakia had registered just over 4000 cases of COVID-19. It imposed another lockdown and over the course of two weekends, became the first European nation to roll out mass testing for COVID-19. On Oct 31–Nov 1, Slovakia tested 3·6 million of its 5·5 million inhabitants using lateral flow tests, the results of which are available within an hour.
