Abstract

The mass spectra of some simple flavones, flavonols, and their permethyl ethers have been examined. A new fragmentation pathway of 6-methoxyflavones is discussed, and the formation of (M—H) + and (M—H 3O) + ions is discussed. It is shown that significant structural information can be obtained from the mass spectra of polyhydroxyflavones and their ethers.
