Abstract
The mass spectra of the vapour over { xTlCl + (1 − x)TlI}(s) have been measured at temperatures from 520 to 580 K over the full composition range. The ions Tl +, TlI +, TlCl +, Tl 2 +, Tl 2I +, Tl 2Cl +, Tl 2Cl 2 +, Tl 2I 2 +, and Tl 2ClI + were observed. Using a special function for describing the dependence of mass spectra on the melt composition, the miscibility gap and excess molar Gibbs free energy have been determined. G m E (J· mol −1) = x(1 − x){11750 + 1240(2x − 1)} . The solid-liquid phase diagram has been calculated.
