Abstract

The reduction of methylethylketone in hydroalcoholic acid solutions at Pb/Sn alloy cathods have shown that organoderivatives of both metals are formed in not negligible yields. Mass spectrometric analysis of catholites could identify, other than the expected tetraalkyl derivatives, polyalkylated metallic chains comprising SnPb intermetallic bonds.
