Abstract

During operation of a single-focusing mass spectrometer in the pressure range 10-6 to 10-10 torr, a number of anomalous peaks were observed in the spectra at nonintegral mass numbers, the two most prominent being at positions corresponding to masses of about 16 1/3 and 19 1/4. Origins of the anomalous peaks are discussed. (L.T.W.)
