Abstract
Esta conferência propõe que o paradigma marxista é bastante influente entre historiadores medievalistas, mesmo que isso não seja muito reconhecido, mesmo que alguns problemas também decorram disso. Desse reconhecimento derivam questões chave a serem enfrentadas por pesquisadores, especialmente se os historiadores quiserem no futuro ser teoricamente mais conscientes do que frequentemente o foram no passado, especialmente nos últimos anos.
