Abstract
This article presents the results of what happened when a court and a family agency began working together to fulfill a law by evaluating requests of minors seeking marriage and, at the same time, offering counsel Data were collected by the interview method. It showed that nearly all minors and parents felt that they were not being helped, while the reputation of the family service agency was being damaged in trying to fulfill its agreement with the court. As a consequence, the family agency terminated its relationship with the court and offered alternative suggestions on how better to meet this community responsibility.
