Abstract
Three good methods of marking bees are, the use of a thick oil paint (artist's colors); powdered pigment, white shellac and alcohol; and a varnish enamel. The most satisfactory one is the use of one part dry pigment mixed with one part liquid white shellac and diluted to the right consistency with ethyl alcohol.
