Abstract

Sasa Resettlement Community is studied within the context of recent happenings which have transformed its former bleak socio-economic conditions to a viable community. The displacement of residents of an area, presently occupied by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), although disruptive of former ways of life of the people, has worked to the advantage of the Community, which is now placed at the door post of the city of Ibadan. This has enhanced the status of the Community to a major market depot for foodstuffs brought from the North.
