Abstract

The original plan for Arab Socialism in the United Arab Republic (Egypt) left the bulk of marketing activities in private hands and anticipated considerable market competition among state-owned production units. It now appears that central control and public activity in marketing will be substantially increased. This article was prepared prior to the Middle East War of June, 1967.
