Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examines how message framing affects the success of gaming mobile apps. It focuses on role playing games and investigates the impact of app descriptions and icons on app performance. The analysis of data from 267 role playing gaming mobile apps reveals that lower levels of construal induced by app descriptions and icons result in better app performance. Furthermore, the research identifies an interaction between the construal level of app descriptions and icons. This study expands the understanding of construal level theory in the digital gaming realm and provides valuable insights for mobile app developers.
