Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper uses the combined data from three micro-databases, namely, China Industrial Enterprise Database, China Customs Database and China Patent Database from 2000 to 2014, to examine the impact of market center of gravity shift on the technological innovation of local enterprises and the empirical results show that: The market center of gravity shift is conducive to improving the local enterprises’ innovation level. The mechanism test shows that the change of market center of gravity promotes the technological innovation of local enterprises by increasing enterprise productivity, stimulating the exit mechanism of market competition, and enhancing the degree of industrial agglomeration.
