Abstract

The Varian auto beam hold system provides a method for monitoring and controlling the intrafraction motion of the prostate by capturing triggered kV images at regular intervals during irradiation, and segmenting the position of implanted fiducial markers. The aim of this study was to investigate the detection ability of the system when using gold and polymer fiducial markers. The markers were placed into wax inserts positioned in a 3D printed pelvic phantom to replicate the prostate and surrounding environment.
