Abstract

1. 1. Marjolin's ulcer, or carcinoma in a scar, occurs when the scar is subjected to continuous tension or other trauma for a period of years. 2. 2. It is curable by radical surgery before the regional nodes are extensively involved. 3. 3. Marjolin's ulcer is always preventable by appropriate transplantation of skin for closure of open wounds and by replacement of dense scars before they break down.
