Abstract

Maritime boundary-making has not been an easy process in any marine region around the world, and the Mediterranean easily compares to other complex geographical areas such as the Gulf of Thailand, South China Sea, Persian/Arabian Gulf and elsewhere.1 Complex maritime boundary-making is not restricted to regions where conflict is endemic. Even between states with good neighbourly relations, such as the US and Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, and France and the UK, the process of maritime boundary-making has been difficult.2 KeywordsContinental ShelfSupra NoteCoastal StateMediterranean StateArbitral TribunalThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
