Abstract

Multiple myeloma (MM) is plasma cell neoplasm characterized by notable inter-patient and intra-clonal heterogeneity that is gradually decoded over the last decades. Despite the deeper and better understanding of its biology and the development of novel therapeutic strategies that have prolonged overall survival, MM still remain largely incurable. This warrants a better understanding of socio-demographic factors that may influence disease course and outcomes across MM patient. Positive influence of marital status is extensively examined and established for many solid and liquid cancers.
