Abstract

Near Toya railway station, slope deposits cover terrace gravels. The author could identify the date of deposition of the terrace gravels with that of Toya ash flow deposits II: Toya ash deposits II were erupted 13, 900±250yrs. B. P. (Minato 1966). The author presumos that terrace gravels bolong to Level IV and that the surface of unconformity on the gravel bed to Level III (Wako 1966). The terrace scarp at Loc. 1 may have been formed during so-called Jomon transgression.
