Abstract
Nuclear receptors (NRs) represent one of the most important drug targets in terms of potential therapeutic application, playing a role in every aspect of development, physiology and disease in humans. In recent years many natural products were found to act as ligands for NRs. As consequence of our long standing interest in the chemistry of bioactive marine products, we found that some new natural products were endowed with modulatory activity towards FXR, PXR and PPARγ receptors. The chemistry and the biological activity of these modulators will be discussed.
