Abstract

Due to limitations of operational risk and maintenance costs as well as the deficiency of operation examination and automatic evaluation in a ship auxiliary boiler system, an examination and evaluation system based on web has been proposed. Web technology is adopted in the system, so that students can study at any time and any place. The dynamic change of initial state and the random creation of test papers bring flexibility for the exam. An evaluation algorithm based on expert system assessment rules has been proposed and applied in this simulation system. The items of scoring have been stored in database of evaluation algorithm. A membership function has been chosen to calculate the membership degree for each variable during the evaluation. The score was given automatically at the end of the examination and the records of deducting marks could be checked if necessary. The evaluation results are consistent with the scores given by experts. System shows that the feasibility of algorithm is well verified. The developed system can play an important role in promoting trainer mastering the operation of ship auxiliary boiler system and marketing automatic in ship auxiliary boiler examination.
