Abstract
It is a well known fact that the choice of acquisition parameters can have a great impact on the quality of the seismic results. One of these parameters, the streamer depth, causes a modulation of the frequency spectrum due to the constructive and destructive interference between the upgoing wavefield and its surface reflection, the receiver ghost. As a result, a shallow streamer will favour high frequencies, but weaken lower frequencies, while a deep streamer will favour lower frequencies.
