Abstract
Mariinskite, a chromium analog of chrysoberyl wasdiscovered in 2011 as a dispersed impregnation inchromitite replaced with mica from the Uralian emerald mines [1].We found mariinskite in chromitite of the Bazhenovskii ophiolite complex located 80 km to the northeast of Yekaterinburg and 10–15 km to the southeastfrom the Uralian emerald mine.
