Abstract
O meio ambiente brasileiro sofre com agressões a natureza, com maior ou menor intensidade. Reconhece-se que as atividades humanas nem sempre respeitam os limites impostos pelos ecossistemas. Diante disto normas e regulamentações tem sido formas efetivas de proteger e conservar o meio ambiente. A política ambiental teve sua evolução histórica se iniciando na antiguadade e hoje passa por uma preocupação mundial, registrado em várias declarações e tratado internacional. No Brasil, as legislações ambientais começaram no período colonial e vem sofrendo alterações com o decorrer do tempo. Este trabalho tem o objetivo de fazer uma breve retrospectiva da política ambiental, apresentando o principal marcos regulatório do direito ambiental brasileiro.
