Abstract

Given the scarcity of complete syntheses in the literature, this research aims to take a methodical approach to present quantitative information on the ever-evolving topic of workplace spirituality (WPS). Between 2001 and 2021, the study examined 438 articles from the Scopus database that were published in peer-reviewed journals. To identify the influential works in the domain, to outline the intellectual structure of the area and to uncover the gaps, the study conducted citation analysis, cluster analysis and co-citation analysis. The most prominent journals, authors, nations and keywords were selected using bibliometric analysis, followed by a careful review of the content of 97 articles within the identified clusters. Cluster analysis led to the identification of five major clusters of importance. Furthermore, the study revealed key research threads for future researchers using the theory, contexts, characteristics and methodology framework. This research will help regulators and academics better understand WPS and figure out which areas need more study.
