Abstract

AbstractIn order to better illustrate the distribution of these rare and phytogeographically important species, we elaborated chorological maps with marking points for a number of 60 plant species. The position of these points on the park’s territory also highlights the current state of protection of these species. In the park’s area, which has a total area of 38,500 ha, only 3500 ha are in the park’s scientific reserve, with strict protection. Of the 60 mapped species, less than half (26 species) live within the perimeter of the scientific reserve. The rest of the species, especially the basophilic ones, are not protected in the Calcareous Retezat.
