Abstract
Dynamically vulcanized thermoplastic elastomeric blends of nitrile rubber (NBR)/poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) were mapped by tapping mode atomic force microscopy (TMAFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The morphology changes with the blend ratio and dynamic vulcanization. Roughness and surface analysis were used to study the effect of dynamic vulcanization and mixing sequence on the surface texture of the thermoplastic elastomeric blends. Surface geometry was quantified by power spectral density (PSD) and fractal analysis.
